Being sensitive to gluten or being diagnosed with a gluten allergy can be quite devastating especially for someone who enjoys good food. Although the transition may be a bit hard, the reality is that a gluten free diet doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless. Due to the large number of people who have gluten allergies, many gluten free foods have come up making the transition quite easy and affordable too.
The first thought that comes to mind when people are told to avoid gluten is the thought of avoiding some of their best foods including pizza, cakes, pasta among others and for most people this is their worst nightmare. Well, the truth is that wheat products which most people love so much do contain gluten must be avoided by anyone on a gluten free diet. However this doesn’t mean that they can’t enjoy all their favorite meals by opting for the same foods without gluten.  You just need clever solutions, such as gluten-free pizza crusts

Not only is the gluten-free pizza crust healthier but it tastes just as great if not better. With all these options there is absolutely no reason why people with gluten allergies should not enjoy their foods or feel like they are on a restricted diet just because of their condition.
If you are diagnosed with celiac disease or any other disease that requires you to avoid gluten foods like wheat, it should not feel like a death sentence. At first it may seem like such a hard task finding good tasty alternatives but once you discover them, it will be just like changing brands and not having a restrictive diet.
Many restaurants today offer gluten free food and all you have to do is ask if they offer gluten free alternatives to their foods. They may not list their foods as gluten free but they may have an alternative for their customers with special dietary needs. Next time you are at your local pizzeria, feel free to ask if they have pizzas with gluten-free pizza crust, you may just be pleasantly surprised.
